Texas Governor and Republican presidential candidate George W.
Bush questioned the Justice Department's decision to bring a
massive lawsuit against the tobacco industry on Wednesday.
Scott McClelland, a Bush campaign spokesman, said, "[The
governor] hopes that the era of 'big government' is not being
replaced by the era of 'big lawsuits.'" McClelland also said,
"The governor is troubled by the Justice Department's reversal
of its earlier position that a federal lawsuit had no merit."
